Kingfisher -  Optical Power Meters

An optical power meter is used by itself for measuring absolute optical power levels. It is used with an optical light source for measuring optical attenuation, and can also be used to identify fiber ends using the inbuilt tone detector.

All power meters are coloured blue for easy identification. Alternatively, some users may prefer an integrated two-way loss test set, or a  simple loss test set.

KI 7600 Series Optical Power Meter

  • High productivity singlemode and multimode applications

  • KITS™ RS232 Realtime + Memory Transfer

  • Large memory

  • +27 to - 70 dBm options

  • CWDM calibration wavelengths

  • Visible fault finder option

  • No warm up period

The KI 7600 Optical Power Meter measures absolute and relative light levels and test tones in fiber optic systems.
Autotest provides automatic multi λ (wavelength) loss testing with an Autotest light source, for fast, easy, and confident testing. A variety of matching LED & laser sources is available, including zero warm up and 4 λ CWDM sources. The meter displays mW, μW, nW, dB, dBm to 0.01 dB resolution, with no range changing delays. A separate reference for each λ is stored and displayed. The tight Total Uncertainty specification covers all power levels, temperatures, connectors and fibers, without warm up or user dark current offset.

  • 1,200 hour battery life

  • λ selective version available

  • Large area detector version available

The KI 7600 series power meter is used for field or laboratory testing of fiber optic systems at typically 850 - 1650 nm. It features superb measurement confidence, ease of use and reduced cost of ownership, and is for use by installers, technicians and engineers.

Superior measurement confidence is achieved with a unique Total Uncertainty specification over the full temperature,
measurement and connector range, and a NATA traceable calibration certificate. The display hold and back light facilities
help acquire readings, and the flexible memory, computer interface and KITS PC software helps record your results.

Autotest mode enables automatic wavelength detection and attenuation measurement (in combination with an Autotest source). A single or multi wavelength source and meter in Autotest mode automatically measure single or multi wavelength attenuation in one direction. High operational reliability & availability is achieved with 300 hour battery life, 3 year re-calibration cycle, negligible warm up and no range-changing delays. Dark current offset is not required. An external power input is also provided.
